		<description>&lt;p&gt;Keith Packard came up with a way to do this for the old X.org repositories.  You can't just remove write permission, because CVS still wants to take locks.  However, if you remove write permission &lt;em&gt;and&lt;/em&gt; tell CVS to put its locks elsewhere, that works.&lt;/p&gt;
